Jungleboys is different in that we operate as a collective of directors – all contributing ideas to the principal Director’s vision. Secondly, our directors are also TV and film writers – enabling us to really add value at the scripting and treatment stages of the process, particularly with comedic/ integrated campaigns. Thirdly, having our own high-end postproduction facilities has huge creative and cost benefits – including our partnership with the Design & Visual Effects House Emerald City Design – http://www.emeraldcitydesign.com.

It’s LA Hip Hop collided with the Aussie back yard barbie – and a little Danish culture thrown in as well. This parody music video was an instant multi-media hit, including well over 300,000 YouTube views in less than a week

The Black Dog Institute is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping people deal with depression and mood disorders. The aim of this spot was to illustrate the idea that physical exercise can help to elevate mood and lessen the effects of depression. It was a great opportunity to pursue a creative idea in the service of an organisation that does so much to help give people peace of mind.

We would like to say a special thank you to all who gave up their time in support of the shoot: Michael Clumes (hero talent); Marden Dean (D.O.P.); Chris Bland (camera assistant); Joe Brunetto (key grip); the Kedar Family, Dan Miau and Alexandria Bulgin for lending us their dogs; and Maren Smith and Sean Corcoran for the extra pairs of hands on set.

Post production wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the Jungleboys post production team and Emerald City, with music composed by Ryan Grogan. Brendan Cowell provided the voiceover.

This 15 second spot was created for internet pre-roll and so our aim was to create something that instantly grabbed the un-interested audiences attention. By keeping the story very ambiguous in the cut, and directing people to the website to see more, we pushed the audience online to help make sense of a guy faking an orgasm, in a deli in New York city.

A controversial and high-profile PSA calling for Carbon Pricing in Australia. The campaign garnered major media attention, with 3 consecutive front page stories across The Sunday Telegraph, The Australian and The Sydney Morning Herald, and extensive Television coverage. Featuring amazing miniature work by Jungleboys designer Mel Pragassan. (And Cate Blanchett.)

The formula is pretty simple but getting Sam Kekovich to get his lines and delivery down in sub-zero temperatures in Europe was an art. One of the keys to this shoot was having fixers in each city to ensure everything was locked down while also having a small fast crew that could shoot guerilla style where necessary. This flexibility allowed us to get beautiful shots in the morning light at the Italian Forum, and to shoot Sam in the middle of the Champs-Élysées framed by the Arc d’Triumphe.

Landcare was a challenging shoot as it combined large-scale locations with VFX elements, as well as children and animals and a tight budget. We had to shoot in winter in rural Victoria, hindered by rain and wind. Leigh is passionate about the environment and social issues, and so is particularly proud of the commercial work he does in these areas.

The key word for this Jacobs Creek spot was “connection”. It had to focus on the ways in which Jacobs Creek wines and the Australian Open bring people together. The spot required natural performances from a mixed cast of professional actors and first-timers.

Directed by Craig Melville and Al Morrow the challenge with this spot was to capture the energy and character of New York City and to make it look beautiful with only a small, fast moving crew.  Being able to secure veteran cinematographer Steve Fierberg as DOP (who shot Entourage) certainly helped. The other challenge was having to use real people (non actors) to deliver fun, natural performances.

Sexy shearers and a bunch of blokes in their undies. The coverage plan here was to keep the reveal until the last possible moment to heighten the sheepish huddle. Key here were subtle performances and some simple stunts. A fantastic heritage location set the scene and beautiful lighting turned a rainy Sydney day into a hot sticky outback shearing shed.
